
Joseph Shagalow

Bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the field of mental health, Dr. Shagalow has become well known for his compassionate and thoughtful approach to clinical work in his areas of practice. These include; personality disorders, suicidal ideation and behaviors, chronic mental illness, depression, anxiety, as well as relationships, parenting, and generational issues. Dr. Shagalow has extensive experience working with addictions, including internet and sexual addiction. After his foundational experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) in his doctoral internship, Dr. Shagalow opened a group of clinics beginning in 2001 in the Twin Cities specializing in DBT. He has now turned his focus to private practice where he works with adolescents, adults, families, and couples.
Dr. Shagalow graduated from the University of St. Thomas, receiving a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1995. He went on to achieve his Doctorate of Clinical Psychology from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in 2000. He is a licensed clinician in both MN and NY.
